What Are You Thankful For?

Happy Thanksgiving everyone,

I hope everybody’s mouth is getting ready to savor the taste of their turkeys. I wish you all a wonderful Thanksgiving with your loved ones. Usually, people go round the table to say what they are thankful for and share this moment with their loved ones. Well, since I love my readers, I want to share what I am thankful for.

  • I am absolutely thankful for God. I kept thinking over and over about how my life could have been if God had not beautifully introduced Himself to me. He is the reason that I have hope for the next day. Without God, living would have been just a mere existence. If I count the number of times that I have been unfaithful despite God’s unwavering faithfulness, I would be an ingrate if I’m not thankful for that. I have been welcomed into a beautiful kingdom. Romans 10:9-10
  • I am thankful for my family. I know for sure that God never makes a mistake, which is why there has never been a moment of regret for the kind of family I was born into. I have the best parents, the best siblings, best nieces and nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. They have been a constant source of motivation for me all the days of my life. When I think about my family, I know for sure that God’s word is true. Jeremiah 1:5.
  • I am thankful for friends. People say I can be really friendly, and I know that for sure. However, I also know that I have just a few numbers of people who I call friends. This is because it takes me a while to be able to open up to others despite how much I play with people. I am thankful for those people that God has divinely selected to be counted as part of my friends. My actions may not always show this, but I am very grateful for these few people. Proverbs 13:20, Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
  • I am thankful for laughter.

I recently saw a movie where someone said it is easy to get a sad person to fall, but very difficult to get someone that laughs to fall because they never wear their emotions on their face. That was very interesting to me. The people in this movie who always laughed had the worst challenges, but despite that, they laughed through it all. It actually became very difficult for their enemies to be able to defeat them because they were just always so happy. Imagine trying to get someone to fall, and you see with your own eyes that the person has fallen. Instead of that person to be crying because of the fall, they now end up laughing, how would you feel? Well, that’s how things should be. Wipe away the victory of your enemies by smiling in the face of difficult circumstances. I am thankful that I am able to laugh in spite of whatever might be going on around me. I was looking through some of my very old pictures and laughing. Every one of those moments in those pictures, there was no indication that I could definitely know what was going to happen in the next phase, but I laughed through it all. When I placed them side by side, they seemed like regular throwback pictures, but they were all reminders of the various hurdles that I have passed through. Which is why I can laugh without worrying about my future because I know that there is only one person present through the various phases and He’s got my back. Jeremiah 29:11, Proverbs 17:22, Proverbs 31:25, Genesis 21:6.

Oh wow, I had better just stop here before I write 10 long pages about the things I am thankful for. How could I forget this- I am thankful for my readers. Thanks to everyone who reads and comments on this blog. Thank you so much for cheering me on.
P.S: For everyone who is not in the U.S today, you can also participate in sharing what you are thankful for because God has been good to every one of us, irrespective of our geographical location. So, please comment on what you are thankful for.

I am thankful for my life, I can sleep and wake up and know I definitely have hope. I am thankful for my family. You are definitely right God did not make a mistake when he put us in the family we are in, it took me long time to realize that. I am thankful for the friends I have, am a very friendly person, but I thank God he allowed me realize the right ones when it looked like walls were down on me. God allows certain things happens in your life not because he's wicked but there is always a positive act that comes out in the end. I am thankful for him uplifting my prayer life. I am thankful for him removing the stony heart from me and giving me the heart to let things go and most especially I thank God because he has been a great blessing in my life. Where I saw myself in January is far different from where i am now. Even if circumstances trys to weigh me down, I am still thankful because he is God.

  6. It's gonna be really hard to say what I'm thankful for without writing an Epistle so I'll just summarize. I am thankful for salvation. I look at where I am now and wonder where I'd have been without Christ. This year didn't really go as planned (actually, it didn't go as planned at all) but I'm grateful to God for keeping me in peace through it all. I'm thankful that today I can testify, today I can laugh. I'm thankful for God's blessing upon my family and friends. Those closest to me really had a lot of testimonies. Finally, I'm thankful for Faith, cause I know that the glory of the latter shall be greater than the former. 🙌🙌

  7. And God continues to fill our mouths with laughter. Thanks for reading
