How was your weekend? I hope you had a productive one? Mine was a little bit relaxing, felt like it was really needed. Well, to those who have been reading my blog posts, I’m grateful for the encouragement. I had to move to a new site so I can own my domain.
This year, God has been pushing me to do things that I had lined up…. this is the year to start sowing. He made me move here so I can do what I’ve always wanted to do- Get people to the knowledge of Christ, one person at a time. Also, God has been making me discover more about who I am as a woman in the scripture such that I had to share it with a couple of other ladies around me. The next few posts will be about my lessons from the book of Esther. Before I go on, I have to say that Esther’s story fascinates me greatly. At the beginning of the year, I started to read about finding purpose and she helped me understand a few things. For what great purpose has God brought me to where I am right now? I hope people are more intentional about their purpose this year and seek answers from God, but that’s not the point of this post, so let me stop there.
Why do we sometimes assume that we are irreplaceable? We start to allow pride seep in little by little when we hear people constantly sing our praises that we think there can never be any like us. Yes, you are unique. God has created you with a unique ability, but that does not mean you can’t be replaced. Funny how God will raise up stones, which are inanimate, to praise Him if we, as humans, refuse to do so. How much more getting someone else to fill our roles when we refuse to fulfill our duties. The interesting thing is that the person that might take up that position might not be quite as qualified- wouldn’t that just sting tho?
What we don’t realize is that while we are letting our achievements get to our head, someone else is seriously preparing themselves just to have the opportunity to get there. We really have to be careful about the image of ourselves that we portray. Vashti was a pretty queen who was loved by her king, but she became too proud and over-familiar that she lost respect for him. He called her and she felt too full of herself that she refused to go see him. The fastest way to sinking deep is assuming that we don’t need anyone around us. That’s one thing the devil counts on- keep us in isolation. If you don’t understand the value of others, then it becomes easy to take them for granted, which in turn keeps you trapped in your head. Although we shouldn’t be consumed by other people’s opinions of us, we need to be careful about certain misconceptions as it could affect our image. Vashti lost her place as queen because she had an image in her head that was far from reality. My question to you is- what image do you have about yourself?

You inspire lots of us Ola, keep doing this its a blessing to most people you might not even know and I think it’s just time I commented on your posts and share my view. I remember when I was in ph serving as a youth corper, the residence pastor at the church I attended just called me one day and said God has chosen me to work with him as an alter minister, what!, alter minister?, me?. I was startled, infact, I ran from that branch for about 2 week to hide 😂 saying God, I’m not qualified to be there, who am I to sit with pastors as a minister 🤷♂️ but then I sat up and the holy ghost spoke to me, I may think I’m not qualified buh it’s not by that, it’s by a ‘willing heart and a dedicated mind both coupled with humility ‘. That corrected that image that I wasn’t good enough and I humbled myself allowing God to take charge and at the end of it all, God so built me in ways I didn’t expect and it made my nysc period one of the most memorable times of my life… So, it works both ways, if you have an image of your self as being too big or even too small (in a negative manner) you’ll be replaced even in a way you never imagine!. He can use anybody even when you think there’s none. He resist the proud and honours the meek….

Great message about the story of Esther, no one on earth is irreplaceable. When that prophet said he was the only one left, God said to him that He still has 7000 men untouched for the job. We surely need to be careful of pride, no matter our achievement, is just a starting point for some other people. Good luck sis

The story of queen Esther is one that inspires humility. My take is,in, life one has to balance things ; you should neither under value nor over value yourself.And that’s one o the reasons i do advocate personal checks on oneself,so, that one would not be caught off-guard behaving seemingly.

I love Esther’s story! It’s an amazing one with so much intrigue. God puts us in every place for a reason. We shouldn’t take advantage of our positions in life but rathee realize that we were placed there for such a time as this and do what God wants us to do. We also shouldn’t let fear prevent us from doing what we are already capable of doing bu his grace at work in us. Thanks you for sharing dear. God bless ya.
