Hello Greatness,
The more I grow in my relationship with God, the more I’m aware that God speaks at every moment. All we need as His children is to be sensitive to His voice. I have to break a stereotype that we all have about the way God speaks to us (maybe I should not generalize and just say people like me have)- God doesn’t just speak in a still small voice. With everything that goes on in your life, God speaks. When I was learning how to drive, God was speaking. Even now, I still hear God speak while I’m driving. Don’t even get me started on how I can incorporate our relationship with GPS to God. Those times when you’re not sure which direction the GPS wants you to go, and you just go somewhere because you think it’s the right way.. then all of a sudden your GPS starts recalculating and rerouting you, by then it must have added some few minutes till you get to your destination. Sounds a little like our relationship with God doesn’t it? Those times when we do some things because we think we heard God clearly and then we are being rerouted and it takes us longer to get to where we should be.

Have you had those moments when you are having a conversation with someone and you start to say some things that you really need to hear? Well, that happens to me quite often. Sometime last week, I was having a conversation with a friend of mine about the daily need to be intentional about living a purposeful life irrespective of what circumstances we might be going through. We talked about how with every plan we make, the devil is always ready to look for a way to disrupt it and discourage us. Then I remembered the Bible verse, He daily loads us with benefits (Psalm 68:19). That means that every single day is prepackaged with blessings of its own. We just have to make sure we know that there is a blessing for us each day. Truth is, the devil doesn’t like this, so there will always be some little things to make us feel less special. This doesn’t mean that God just watches and allows the devil do these things without intervening, He is very much interested in seeing us overcome these little attempts of the devil to thwart our plans. The very next day, during my Bible study session, I saw a verse that was like a confirmation of the conversation and I shared it with him. Psalm 56:8 (MSG)- You’ve kept track of my every toss and turn through the sleepless nights, Each tear entered in your ledger, each ache written in your book. This shows that God sees your every tear, and He is concerned about you, but then again, He trusts you to have faith in Him.

Then, I had an awesome weekend with my friends and it felt great that in the midst of our fun, we could see God in it. Went out with quite an adventurous bunch of people- we went ziplining. When the instructor told me to take a leap and just trust him because the harness was holding on to me safely, I just felt like this sounds very familiar. He counted to three and I just couldn’t go, even when I had seen like three of my friends go without being hurt. A part of me kept remembering the waiver we had to sign and the risks involved. Once again, sounds like the way we are with God doesn’t it? How often do we ignore the reassuring voice of God because we can’t let go of the trials on our journey. After about two attempts…. I finally became quite confident and told my friends to watch me do it. Sometimes, boldly declaring our trust in God can keep us accountable. Anyways, I had a great deal of fun and eventually took that leap.

Thanks for reading!!!

Beautiful. Glad you were able to see God’s goodness. The more we heed his voice, the more clearly we can hear it the next time. Sometimes He whispers, but sometimes He comes through loud and clear.
