The Nature of God

Hello Greatness,

How do you describe God to someone who has no idea who He is? Also, what aspects of God do you decide to focus on? You see, I’ve been studying the Bible, and I’ve listened to quite a few messages, read a few books, yet I still haven’t seen people scratch the surface of who exactly God is. Like, it seems that the human mind cannot even fathom the greatness of God’s majesty. We all really try, but God is just too big to put in just a few words. Don’t you find it interesting to see that someone else has thought of a new perspective to describe God? Well, I’m always in awe when I read more about God. Each day, it excites me to learn something new about this my beautiful God. So, I decided not to be selfish, and share one of my newest discovery from the book of Psalms.

Let’s look at some of the majesty of God from Psalm 104:

  • God is dressed in a robe of light. See how beautiful the sunshine is, well, that’s one of God’s pretty outfits. So, everyday, when the sun rises, we get to see God dressing up for us. Walking on the runway everyday. Just imagine the sun as seeing a glimpse of God.
  • He’s a Mighty Warrior. The rain acts as God’s chariot. Now my question, can you count the drops of rain? Even the light showers, we can’t count them. Imagine having that as your chariot. That’s the kind of God you have on your side. In short, even the winds obey Him—> they act as God’s delivery service. Ain’t that nice?
  • God created everything with wisdom. God is the best business strategist there is. I mean, He had the full vision of the project He was about to embark on, He drew out the architecture (all in His mind of course), and He got to work. Even God didn’t try to do everything at once. He broke them down into various steps and began to work on them one after the other. Dare I say, He delivered the projects in incremental values. Placed everything where they were supposed to be. Awesome!!!
  • He is a nurturer. I like the verse that says, “ For the hurt of the daughter of my people am I hurt; I am black; astonishment hath taken hold on me. (Jeremiah 8:21).” That shows that God is very particular about us doing well. He sends rain to the mountains, provides food for the Lions, feeds the goat, cares for the plants, I can’t even mention all of the things He does for His creations.

The part that got my attention the most from that chapter were verses 6 to 8. Despite the mysterious nature of God, there are still some things that are constant. We know for sure that He will always come through for His own, all that seems a mystery most times are the how and the when. Those verses said something about the water fleeing when God spoke to it. (if God can put water that stood above the mountains in its place, then be rest assured that He will put you in your place). See, the water fled at the words of God. It took immediate action, and was put where it was rightfully assigned, it’s appropriate fit. Funny thing is, the water was okay standing above the mountain. (I can’t imagine a world where water is higher than mountains, hmmmm). If it had remained there, it would have been a qualifier for the mountain– it would be an adjective to describe the beauty of the mountain. But due to its obedience, its in a world of its own. It became such a big deal that other creatures live inside it.

My point is, God has appointed a place for you- He has assigned somewhere great for you. If you choose to obey God’s instructions, you will stop being a qualifier, but be established on your own. God has got you– just trust Him.

With exceeding love,

Mz_Ola.

    God is indescribable!
    He is inexplicable!
    Unsearchable!
    And unfathomable!
The human mind can never comprehend Him.
He is beyond human psychology, science or reasoning.
The fool often confines Him to religion, but He totally transcends that.
    He is unquestionable
So high above, yet so close to our hearts
I could go on , but let me stop
Because, like you mentioned, words could never be enough to describe Him.

Knowing God is the best thing that can happen to man. Just as a spouse knows his/her partner, overtime their real nature/identity will be revealed to each other because of genuine love. Same is God!

“God is love” ! That’s the summary of who He is. Every other nature of God is cocooned in love.
    1john4:7-8
7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.

8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
