Public Show of Love

Hello Greatness,

Cheers πŸ₯‚ to a brand new year…. I know we’re already in the second month… but since this is the first time we’re meeting, I want to wish you a very happy new year πŸŽŠπŸŽ†πŸŽˆ . Here’s to the month of love ❀️ …. and as a result, we will be looking into “Love” and what it means to be in love. I’m in love, so I think I’m an expert at this, and my love story has been ongoing for years.

If you have ever been in a relationship or even tried to figure some things out about yourself when it comes to love, then you might have taken “The Love language” test. I got you there right? Kudos to trying to figure out the right things. Well, I took the love test as well and realized that my no 1 love language is Words of Affirmation, then the second is quality time. I was so excited about figuring out these results because I realized that I had to know the love languages of who I’m in love with. Guess what? He has pretty much the same results as I did. Let me show you.

In Romans 10:9-10, I realized that God loves Words of Affirmation just as much as I do.

Because if you acknowledge and confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and in your heart believe (adhere to, trust in, and rely on the truth) that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
For with the heart a person believes (adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Christ) and so is justified (declared righteous, acceptable to God), and with the mouth he confesses (declares openly and speaks out freely his faith) and confirms [his] salvation.

You see, it’s hard to be in love with someone without verbally declaring it. Why do you think it’s important to let someone know we love them? I think it’s because actions alone are not enough. Actions can sometimes be misleading… you could assume someone loves you because they show you some acts of kindness or pay attention to you, when they are simply being themselves. Just like we like to know when someone loves us, God does as well.

Perhaps because my major love language is words of affirmation, I would like to hear that I am loved as much as possible. In verse 9 of that chapter, God asks us to acknowledge Him and then say it. One might argue that just knowing that we have God is enough considering God knows our hearts (1 Samuel 6:7). So yes, when we believe, God sees our hearts and how genuine we are with Him. However, our confession or public declaration of our love for God is not for His benefit but ours and for the benefit of others. When you are in a relationship with someone, even though you both declare your love for each other, it is also important to define that relationship for others to know. This lets others know your place in the heart of your partner, while also eliminating any unwanted attention.

There’s an amazing scripture that tells us why it’s important to say with our mouths that we are loved by God. This scripture just proves to us that we are not alone in our declaration of love. God wouldn’t leave you looking like a fool when you let everyone know you . Luke 12:8 (TPT),

I can assure you of this: If you don’t hold back, but freely declare in public that I am the Son of Man, the Messiah, I will freely declare to all the angels of God that you are mine.

After acknowledging and confessing Christ as your Savior, you also have to pay attention to the other love language of God, which is quality time. There are times when I don’t necessarily have words, but just want to spend time with my loved ones. God is like that as well. You don’t always have to spend time in prayer, even though this is necessary coz it helps improve communication, you can also just spend time listening to Him. See, if you want to learn anything about love… like ways to love, how to show affection, or things to say to get your loved ones blushing, spend time studying the Bible. God is such a Lover!!!

Let me end the love post on this note…. there are important elements of our proof of love. I chose the Amplified Classic version for a reason, it shows us what we need to prove our love. We need to adhere to God’s Word, trust in His Son, and rely on Him. You can’t have a successful relationship with anyone if you don’t subscribe to these truths. The same applies to your other relationships.

So, if you are reading this and you are yet to declare Jesus as your Lord and Savior… please say these words out loud: “Jesus, I acknowledge You as the Son of God. I believe You came to earth simply for me. I receive You from today as my Lord and Savior. Thank You for choosing me to be Yours. In Jesus name, Amen”

With all my heart,
